The publishers of NME (IPC) biased opinion!
"NME has become a truly unique multi-platform media proposition. Across the magazine, nme.com, NMETV, NME Radio and the brand's live events and awards, NME reaches over one million music fans every week. NME is the longest published and most respected music weekly in the world. Every week it gives its readers the most exciting, most authoritative coverage of the very best in contemporary music, including award winning features, the latest releases, live reviews, the definitive guide to the best new bands in its Radar section, as well as a regular look back through the magazine's incredible 58 year heritage".
To really get a top grade, you must address the issue of 'pyschographics.' What kind of audience is the magazine trying to attract? You have started to consider this here, but more detail is needed.
ReplyDeleteAlso - if the look and artwork of the NME is something that you like and would like to use as an influence, you should really investigate the HISTORY and TRADITIONS of this style. Go and research 'punk' (wikipedia is a good place to start) and try and find some examples of early 'punk' type magazines. 'Sniffin' Glue (unfortunate title!) was a pioneering magazine of this type, and you will soon see exactly how much influence 'the punk aesthetic' has on magazines like NME to this very day.
